Since Easter is this weekend everyone is probably getting ready to dye some eggs. A little while ago I saw Martha
Stewart on the Today show making really pretty eggs

My favorite is the silk tie eggs- GORGEOUS!!!!!
Lee Angel
Stella McCartney
Polo Ralph Lauren
That's so awesome!!
1She always does such beautiful eggs!!
2I wish I saw this before I donated all my husband's old ties to charity. That was so cool and much prettier than the eggs I just decorated with my daughter.
3So awesome!
4That was so cool, with the ties. What is muslin cloth? What other kind of cloth could you use to wrap it so the colors don't bleed?
5Those are BEAUTIFUL! I will have to do that one year, really cool.
LisaK, muslin is just bascially undyed or bleached cotton, like an old white sheet. You can get it by the bolt at WalMart, or just use old sheeting.
6Thanks la_clique
7The silk tie eggs were my fav too Jess. I will have to try to remember that trick the next time I dye eggs.
8I made the silk tie eggs today. I let them boil for 30 minutes, like she said.
My camera
needs batteries, otherwise, I would show them. Well all I have to say is the tie print did NOT cover the whole egg. I wrapped them with the tie, then muslin cloth and twist tied them off. It
must take lots of practice. I am no Martha for sure!!
9Aw, Lisa, I'm sure it take more practice than she says. there is no way to get the tie to go all over the egg perfectly, I'm sure yours were pretty.
10Aww thanks...the parts that had the print were really pretty. They don't look anything like the ones she had done
It is really cool how the print is picked up onto the eggs. I will definitely try it again.
